1. Information we collect
When you create an account and use Wadili Delivery, we collect information such as your name, phone number, city and address, order history, and (for drivers) vehicle and wallet information. We also collect location information — pickup and delivery coordinates, and a driver's live location while a delivery is in progress — so that orders can be matched to nearby drivers and tracked in real time.
2. How we use your information
We use the information we collect to:
- Create and manage your account, and verify your identity via SMS one-time codes
- Match delivery orders with nearby available drivers
- Calculate delivery prices, distances, and estimated times of arrival
- Process payments, promo codes, ride credit, and referral rewards
- Send order status updates and push notifications
- Maintain the security and integrity of the Service, including rate-limiting abusive activity
3. Location data
Pickup and delivery addresses are converted to map coordinates so we can estimate distance and route a driver to you. While a driver is assigned to an active order, their device location is shared with the customer so the delivery can be tracked on a map. Location sharing stops once the order is completed or cancelled.
4. Cookies and local storage
We use cookies and similar storage (such as your browser's local storage) to keep you signed in, remember your preferences (such as language), and maintain your session while using the app. These are used to operate the Service and are not used for third-party advertising.
5. Sharing of information
We share the minimum information necessary between customers and drivers to complete a delivery (e.g. pickup/delivery address, phone number, and order details). We do not sell your personal information to third parties. We may share information with service providers that help us operate the platform (e.g. our database, SMS, push notification, and payment providers), and where required by law. Some of these service providers may store or process data on servers located outside Lebanon; in those cases we take reasonable steps to ensure your information remains protected.
6. Data retention
We retain account and order information for as long as your account is active and as needed to comply with our legal and accounting obligations. You may request deletion of your account by contacting us through the Help & Support page.
7. Data security
We use industry-standard measures to protect your information, including encrypted connections, row-level access controls on our database, and rate limiting on sensitive endpoints. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, but we work to continually improve our safeguards.
8. Your choices
You can update your profile information at any time from your account settings, and you can disable push notifications from your device settings or within the app. Drivers can sign out of location sharing by going offline.
9. Children's privacy
The Service is not directed at, or intended for use by, children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from individuals under the age of 18. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us through the Help & Support page so we can remove it.
10. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will post any changes on this page with an updated revision date.
